I have had links with Montessori and with the integration of normal and multiply diversely handicapped children since 1970/71.
At this time the first AMI Course in Munich/Germany was established by
• Mario Montessori senior and his wife Ada.
• Prof. Theodor Hellbrügge, the founder of Aktion Sonnenschein
• Mrs. Margarete Aurin, a student of Dr. Maria Montessori
During this time I gained the AMI Diploma, which was signed by Mario Montessori, who at the time was also one of my examiners.
Since 1971 I have been working with integrated groups run by Aktion Sonnenschein both as a teacher and later as a board member (from 1981 to 1998).
I started my trainer training in Milwaukee/USA in 1975 and worked closely with Mario Montessori.
I helped to establish the first AMI Course for Special Education in Munich which started in 1976. I worked as both the Director of Training and as the AMI Trainer. I worked with this organisation until 1998 and my work included the teaching of both normal and multiply diversely handicapped children. I gained my Trainer diploma during this time and it was signed by Renilde Montessori, the granddaughter of Maria Montessori.
In 1984 I was a founding member of the German Academy for Developmental Rehabilitation and also for the Internationale Academy for Developmental Rehabilitation and my work continued until 1998, during this time I supported the set up of the new Kinderzentrum in Munich.
In 1983 I founded and directed a private bilingual Montessori Kindergarten, my responsibility continues to the present day.
In 1999 I established a new organisation Montessori Internationales Ausbildungszentrum e. V. This organisation now runs the AMI courses, the bilingual Montessori-Kindergarten and the bilingual Montessori-School.
From 1990 I have been supporting the Montessori system in Russia.
I was an examiner in Romania, Altanta (USA) and Paris.
I have observed children all around the world and I am sure that the Montessori system is beneficial to all children.
